Art and Architecture, Collana Due ma non Due

From the preface by Paolo Guzzi:

The title: it has always been important for Silvana Baroni, who generally starts with the title to sign her desire to play through the signifiers with the plurality of meanings. In this case, Bisegni immediately tells us the structure of the text that takes place on two levels of signs. The written text by Luciana Gravina is immediately denoted as a series of prose poems due to the observation of our daily reality and the thought that derives from it. The attention of the writer is noted through lightning lines that describe especially the city and the man (the woman) who feels uncomfortable in life. Quick phrases, the verses I would say, which almost always close “surprise”, short sentences stopped by a point that for the fast suspension, a moment, create anxiety and arouse bitterness. In the context of the dualism of the codes that always guide the plural art of Silvana Baroni, this work differs because, while maintaining the duplicity of vision, iconic text and writing, the two codes are due to two different hands: in fact Luciana Gravina, writer and Silvana Baroni here only as an artist who fits into the written text of Gravina, collaborate in this double collection of signs. In short, the duality is maintained, but here it is due to two different authors who support each other, they enter one another, one with the word, the other with the iconic sign. (…) It results therefore an operetta for the small dimensions, portable, of immediate fruition, but intelligent for the assumptions and the depth of the observation, almost a book-object. A book of artists.
